"Over 40% of diesel engine downtime is coolant related. Have you experienced any these problems?"

A perforated wet sleeve cylinder liner means one thing-costly repairs. When a diesel engine is running, the wet sleeve liners vibrate, creating vapor bubbles that implode into - and eventually through - a liner's surface. This process is called cavitation and results in the escape of coolant into your engine's crankcase. And when antifreeze mixes with oil . . . it's all over!

When your coolant allows some of its inhibitors to drop out and gel, you are getting what is commonly referred to as "green goo." Low-quality, high silicate coolants are susceptible to this type of problem, which can lead to blocked radiator and heater cores, clogged filters and obstructed hoses. In addition, a coolant that is high in silicates can reduce the durability of water pumps and lead to expensive repairs.

We have all seen what rust can do to external metal surfaces. That is exactly what happens when the water in your antifreeze attacks the vital engine metals in your cooling system. Using an antifreeze without the proper inhibitors will lead to your engine being eaten away by the "corrosion cannibal."

A coating of white particles can cover your cooling system like a thick wool blanket, suffocating your engine and trapping in the heat. But where do these particles come from? Tap water contains microscopic solids. These solids can react with the formulations of inferior antifreezes to form the white coating symptomatic of hard water scale.
